Our members' July 4th was a memorable one as the Cambridge Police Patrol Officers Association hosted a barbecue outside the Cambridge Police Headquarters Station for approximately 250 Officers and Professional Staff working on Independence Day. July 4th a mandatory work day for the vast majority of the department due to the influx of people who come to the city to attend fireworks along the Charles River.
The CPPOA team had the grill going for 10 hours: providing summer cookout-style food service to three shifts of officers. All food items and related expenses were paid for by the CPPOA. The grill was staffed by Officers Chris Borum, Eugene Bustillo, Robert Colbert and Bob Reardon - all members of the CPPOA Executive Board. Association President Chris Sullivan assisted with the set-up and Officer Nick Ayoub assisted with the cleanup.
